| Rare 1932 Exhibitor Campaign Book For Mickey Mouse And Silly Symphonies

In 1932, Walt Disney issued a 48-page Exhibitor's Campaign Book
promoting Mickey Mouse and Silly Symphonies, distributed by United
Artists. The print run for this book was very limited to about 15,000
copies.
The book offered a multitude of items and promotional ideas,
including articles on how to operate a Mickey Mouse Club at the theatre and
offering Mickey Mouse "Pops" to customers. The book also mentioned countless
examples of success from the use of promoting Mickey. The campaign book
mentioned that Mickey was the "Most Publicized Film Actor In The World." The
interior of the book had a reply postcard attached for theater owners to state
their desire to run Mickey Mouse features. Also included were two pages with a
detailed list of licensees and a reply postcard used to obtain local dealer
names. Included were many great examples of merchandise from the numerous
manufactures of Mickey products including Borgfeldt & Co., Brandle And
Smith Co., Steiff, Cohn & Rosenberger Inc., Schumann, Norwich Knitting Co.,
David McKay, Herz and Cory, Saalfield, Warnova Mfg. Co., Hall Brothers, and
more. Also included were premiums to be distributed by theatre owners including
flip books, doorknob hanger, birthday cards, and other items.
