Gemstone Publishing will also be in attendance, as well many other publishers, dealers and creators. The convention also hosts a number of gaming tournaments, a 24-hour movie and anime room, and a huge main area filled with a wide array of back-issue dealers, publishers, and creators. Superman movie cast members Margot Kidder (Lois Lane) and Jack O'Holloran (Non) will be signing autographs all three days and also will be talking about what it was like to work together in Superman II during a panel which is scheduled for Friday at 3:00 PM. There will be a midnight showing of Rocky Horror Picture Show to benefit the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund (CBLDF) on Saturday, April 23. The admission will be $5.00. Each of the show's three days will feature CBLDF Quick Sketch sessions in which attendees have the chance to win a piece of original art for a $1.00 donation. The show reportedly raised over $6,000 for the CBLDF last year. The convention's annual Make-A-Wish Foundation Art Auction will be Saturday April 23 at 7:00 PM. Some of the items are a painting of 15 characters by Mark Texeira (the con's program book cover), the cover art of Strangers in Paradise #74 by Terry Moore, a New Teen Titans piece by George Perez, and many other items. The con reported that last year's auction raised $26,000 for Make-A-Wish. For more information visit www.pittsburghcomicon.com. |
