Okay, we're human. We're not above saying "We told you so." And we're extremely pleased to have been right about this one.

Marvel has announced that not only will the second Mary Jane series, Mary Jane: Homecoming, be collected in a digest as previously announced, but Spider-Man's flame will get her own ongoing series from the same creative team.

Writer Sean McKeever (Gravity) and artist Takeshi Miyazawa handle the creative duties on the series, which is a familiar yet slightly different take on the world of Spider-Man from the viewpoint of a teenaged Mary Jane Watson.

The new series is tentatively titled Spider-Man Loves Mary Jane, and the first issue should hit comic shops in December 2005.

Mary Jane: Homecoming followed the original MJ mini-series, Mary Jane: Circle of Friends, and is due out in September.
