TwoMorrows Publishing enters the parody genre with June's Comic Book Nerd one-shot magazine featured in April's issue of Previews.. Spoofing their own publications, their competition, and the comics industry in general, Comic Book Nerd takes a light-hearted look at what makes fanboys and fangirls tick.

Creating a humorous alternate universe of the comics fan press, Pete Von Sholly leaves no corner of the comics industry untouched as he bring the funny, obscure, and outright weird aspects of fandom to the forefront with both a deep appreciation and warped respect.

"I wanted to make some statements about how I felt about [the state of the industry]," said Von Sholly, "and also make some loving statements about what I do love about comics."

Featuring parodies of such publications as Wizard, Alter Ego, The Comics Journal, and even Previews, Comic Book Nerd tackles every issue from variant covers to comic shop gossip to slabbed books with a fun (if not almost too true) poke.

"I tried to mix things up so that Comic Book Nerd is not a rant nor an attack, but rather a freewheeling, confetti-filled shotgun blast at fanzines, journalism and comics creators and collectors. Not aimed to kill but rather to make noise and entertain in a satiric way," said Von Sholly.
