Phoenix ComicCon This Weekend

The Phoenix ComicCon will be taking place this weekend at the Mesa Convention Center in Phoenix, Arizona. The two-day event features a great line-up of guests, publishers and dealers, as well as an impressive programming schedule that just keeps getting better.

This week, Komikwerks announced that Shannon Eric Denton, company founder and author of TokyoPop's Zapt!, will be appearing at the show for both days as well as unveiling the finished Actionopolis book line for the first time this convention season.

“The Phoenix show has been around a few years but this will be my first time I've been able to make it,” Denton said “which I'm very excited about because this year's show looks to be the best ever. The Komikwerks alumni and I are going to be in great company with the all-star guests they have lined up.”

Also appearing at this year's show will be Terry Austin, inker of Archie Comics' Sonic X and winner of Comics Buyer's Guide Favorite Inker of 2005 award. Austin will be appearing at the show for both day and this is his only show appearance for this season.

And if that wasn't enough, the newly renamed Hero Initiative will be offering one lucky fan that opportunity to have lunch with Amanda Conner, Jimmy Palmiotti and Justin Gray and lunch with Steve Rude along with a sketch. The Hero Initiative will be auctioning off these great opportunities through eBay auctions that will close today. Interested fans can place their bid by clicking on the following links:

Finally, fans can also pick up the con exclusive Wolverine: Origins #5 sketch cover from Samurai Comics to benefit the Hero Initiative.
