During the heat of the election, news centers throughout the country were offering their information on the presidential candidates from their favorite superheroes, to their beliefs on foreign policy. Not to be left out, the comic book industry's IDW Publishing offered Presidential Material, comic books about President-elect Barack Obama and Senator John McCain.
Fresh off his election win, Obama’s comic is entering a second run. IDW is releasing a special silver stamped edition of the Barack Obama political comic bio, after the first edition sold out during the initial print run in October. The new special edition will be in comic book stores on December 3, 2008 and can be preordered at presidentialcomics.com. It features a silver President Elect foil-stamped seal on the cover beside Obama’s image.
“The demand for the Obama book has exceeded our expectations by a wide margin. Despite aggressively overprinting, it is now sold out and we are going back to press. This has been an incredibly exciting roll of the dice for us, and we’re delighted the book has captured the public’s imagination,” Scott Dunbier, IDW’s special projects editor said.
Limited supplies of the Presidential Material: John McCain and the Flipbook, including both candidates’ stories, are still available.
