Anime Supercon’s Super Guest List

Anime Supercon’s Broward Anime Festival is right around the corner! Occurring February 6–8, 2009, the Broward Anime Festival celebrates anime, manga, cosplay, comic books, and video games in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida! Just added to the guest list are Billy West, Yaya Han, and C.J. “Kefka” Collins.
Billy West, known as a man of many voices, is the show’s Guest of Honor. West is most notable for his voices as Fry, Prof. Hubert, Dr. Zoidberg, and Zapp in the animated television series Futurama. He also lent his voice to the Nickelodeon cartoon Ren and Stimpy. Beginning in 1991 West voiced Stimpy, then starting in 1993 he was also the voice for Ren and continued to be the voice for the duo until 1996. Voicing for approximately 120 different characters, West’s other characters include Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd in Looney Tunes films, Popeye in the 75th anniversary film Popeye’s Voyage: The Quest for Pappy, and Doug in the television series Doug.
Cosplay Guest of Honor, Yaya Han will be available to meet, adorning one of her famous costumes. Han has created more than 75 cosplay costumes, with many more on the way! Her designs have even being recognized with winning awards in the industry.
Known on YouTube as Kefka, C.J. Collins will be attending the Broward Anime Festival to film material for lolfilmworks, his very popular YouTube channel. To view previous episodes, please visit Kefka here.
Another voice creator, Stephanie Sheh will also be attending the Supercon. Sheh is also a writer and editor, but is mostly known as a voice actress. As Jennifer Sekiguchi, Sheh received the American Anime Award of Best Voice Actress in an Anime Comedy. Her other roles include Naruto as Hinata Hyga and Kin Tsuchi, Bleach as Isane Kotetsu and Yoshi, among many others! Director of FUNImation’s Operation Anime, Sophie Mcnutt will be hosting panels discussing the current state of the anime industry, upcoming titles, local anime clubs as well as other topics. Some attending artists include Deleon Walter, Joel Estrada, Manny Aquilera, Jiro Tamase, Nakia Mann, Patrick Baker, and more!
The convention will also host costume contests, tabletop gaming L.A.N. gaming, anime programming, workshops, panels, dance parties, photo shoots, karaoke, a tea party, and more!
