Spotlight Book: Tales From the Crypt: Volume One

Incase you didn’t know, Tales From the Crypt, originally published in 1950, features classic horror stories of vampires, werewolves, ghouls, and monsters in the vein of the early Dracula, Frankenstein, and Wolf Man movies. This title was EC's best seller, and was the inspiration for several feature films and the HBO series of the same name.

This week, the first six issues that have been compiled into one volume in Gemstone Publishing’s EC’s Archives: Tales from the Crypt: Volume One is featured as our Spotlight Book.

No true graphic horror fan should be without this publication as it includes a foreward by horror movie master, John Carpenter, writer of Halloween, The Fog, Escape From New York, and The Thing. Issues one through six of Tales from the Crypt appear as follows: "Death Must Come!," “The Man Who Was Death,” "The Corpse Nobody Knew," "Curse of The Full Moon!," "The Maestro’s Hand," "The Living Corpse," "Madness at Manderville," "Mute Witness to Murder!," "Ghost Ships!," "The Hungry Grave," "Cave Man, Zombie!," "The Thing From The Sea!," "A Fatal Caper!, Rx…Death!," "Impending Doom!," "A Shocking Way to Die!," "Terror Ride!," "House of Horror," "Death Suited Him!," "The Thing From The Grave!," "Blood Type 'V'"!," Death’s Turn!," and "The Curse of the Arnold Clan!"

Artists Johnny Craig, George Roussos, Harvey Kurtzman, Graham Ingels, Jack Kamen, Wally Wood, and Marie Severin piled their magnificent storytelling abilities along side writer-editor and sometimes artist, Al Feldstein, in EC Comic’s most famous title, which contains the first 24 stories, six issues that have inspired television shows, movies, cartoons, and generations of fans.

This is a “terror-ific” opportunity to order Tales from the Crypt: Volume One. Since it’s this week’s spotlight book, there is no charge on shipping for this item. This applies to orders made between Friday, January 30, 2009 through Friday, February 6, 2009 on purchases made through the Gemstone website, or by calling 888-375-9800, extension 1612.
