After getting your fill of romantics on Valentine’s Day, head to the Los Angeles Comic Book and Science Fiction Convention for some exciting entertainment. Held Sunday, February 15, 2009, the L.A. event will deliver comics and collectibles, as well as autograph opportunities with media guests.
American Gladiators stars William Romeo (Mayhem), Erin Toughill (Steel), Jamie Kovac (Fury), Robin Coleman (Hellga), Jim Star (Laser), and Tanoai Reed (Toa) will be there signing autographs from 12:00 to 3:00 PM. There will be no charge to sign one item and the cast will have a Special American Gladiators Poster available for purchase that they will sign together. Though the show will no longer appear on NBC, the cast will announce where new episodes will air. New cast members for the new season of American Gladiators will also be appearing.
Ray Park, who played Darth Maul in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, will be there celebrating the movie’s tenth anniversary. This summer he’s starring in G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra as Snake Eyes. He will be signing autographs from 12:00 to 3:00 PM. A set of five G.I. Joe movie posters will be given for free to attendees while supplies last.
The convention will be held at the Shrine Auditorium Expo Center, located at 700 West 32nd Street in Los Angeles, across from USC. Admission is only $8, with children five and under free. The con will feature a large Dealers Room full of comics, anime merchandise, toys, and other collectibles.
