Creepy Marks Return at San Diego Con

Definitely in the spirit of the original, Creepy returns to the stands on July 15, 2009 with a new #1.

The back cover for the new #1 spotlights some of the other Creepy items available with the relaunch.

Uncle Creepy's "family" appears on the variant cover of Creepy Comics #1.

Creepy, the long-running horror anthology originally published by Warren Publishing, marks its return with new material in Creepy Comics #1from Dark Horse Comics on July 15, 2009 and with a panel and signing at this year’s Comic-Con International: San Diego.

The Creepy panel is scheduled for Friday, July 24, 3:30 PM - 4:30 PM and will include editor Shawna Gore, consulting editor Dan Braun, and other creators such as Eric Powell, Craig Haffner, Joe Harris, and others. It will be followed with a signing at 5:00 PM- 6:00 PM including Powell, Braun, Bernie Wrightson, Jason Shawn Alexander, Joe Harris, and Brian Churrilla.

The original Creepy started in 1964 and featured work by some of the top creators in comics, including Frank Frazetta, Archie Goodwin, and many veterans of EC Comics. Dark Horse has been releasing hardcover archive collections of the original Creepy and its sister publication, Eerie to positive reviews.

The new Creepy Comics #1 marks the print debut of new material under the banner. With contributions from writers Neil Kleid, Joe Harris, Dan Braun, and Mike Woods, it features stories illustrated by Angelo Torres, Bernie Wrightson, Jason Shawn Alexander, and others under a cover by The Goon creator Eric Powell. The 48-page, black and white comic carries a $4.99 retail price.
