The Hero Initiative’s latest fund-raising effort, the Wolverine: Weapon X 100 Project, is complete. As with some of their similar drives, such as the Ultimate Spider-Man #100 Project, Marvel Comics donated to the Hero Initiative a set of exclusive blank-cover copies of the recent Wolverine: Weapon X #1. Hero, in turn, got 100 artists to do an original Wolverine illustration on of the blanks.
The result is that fans will be able to get one-of-a-kind covers by comic book legends such as Neal Adams, J. Scott Campbell, David Finch, Arthur Adams, and Tim Sale, among others, and all the proceeds go to the Hero Initiative.
Each week, twelve cover will be released for auction on eBay. Additionally, winning bidders will have the option of having their comic graded and certified through CGC’s Signature Series free of charge.
“We were very happy to be a part of the Hero Initiative’s Ultimate Spider-Man 100 Project and Hulk 100 Project, and jumped at the chance to do it again.” said Paul Litch, CGC Vice President, “It's great art done by great artists for a great cause. CGC is honored to be a part of this project and pleased to donate our services. We can’t wait to see them all!”
