World's Largest Cotton Swab Visible In Mickey Mouse Adventures #3!

If you've ever taken a cross-country drive, you may have visited “Roadside America” -- the unusual tourist sites that line our nation's lesser-traveled highways. In Neillsville, Wisconsin, for example, one can see Chatty, a giant talking cow statue. In Clearfield, Pennsylvania, a local Denny's serves the world's heaviest hamburgers. And in South Newport, Georgia, you can visit the country's smallest church. It fits thirteen people... just barely.

Now Mickey Mouse and Horace Horsecollar take the tacky tour of America in Mickey Mouse Adventures Take-Along Comic #3, on sale this week at your favorite comic shop. “Out of Sites,” the lead story by fan favorite Stefan Petrucha, tells of what happens when our boys visit the World's Largest Corncob, the World's Smallest Roller Coaster, and... wait a minute! It seems that the bizarre attractions are mysteriously disappearing from Mickey's and Horace's travel route. With people's livelihoods on the line, our boys know only one way to find the answers. That's right... build a tacky tourist attraction of their own -- the World's Largest Cotton Swab -- and hide inside the swab to see what will happen to them next! We promise yuks, yucks, and a meeting with possibly the most pompous villain in all of Mousedom.

Our backup stories are no slouches this issue. In Michael T. Gilbert's “Dead Letter Donald,” Donald Duck quits working at the margarine factory in favor of a new position as local postman. Or extra-local, as it turns out. For to get the job, Donald must prove himself by delivering a handful of ancient “dead letters” to their proper recipients -- regardless of where those recipients may be living today. Donald travels from darkest Africa to the whitest Arctic, and everywhere in between! And in our second backup, “Captain Fracasse,” it's Mickey who travels -- to Paris, that is, in a “play-acting” story set in the 19th century. With a ragtag group of actors, Baron Mickey of Mousenac fights the tyrannic rule of the region's dukes... Jambedubois and Blackcape of Fantome, old-time French incarnations of Pegleg Pete and the Phantom Blot.
