As the 15^th Anniversary of Sonic the Hedgehog winds down, Archie Comics sends the celebration out with a blast this December with two new releases. First, the second volume in the Sonic the Hedgehog Archives hits stores on December 2, 2006. Collecting the classic issues 5 - 8 of the Sonic series and features eight stories, including “Olympic Trials & Error” and “Chomp on this, Chump!” (issue #5), “The Spin Doctor” (issue #6) and “Sonic's Christmas Carol” (issue #6), “Uncle Chuck's Treasure” and “Sorceress in Distress” (issue #7), “Bots All Folks!” and “A Little Music Goes a Long Way” (issue #8). Written by Mike Gallagher and Angelo DeCesare with art by Dave Manak

Next, Sonic the Hedgehog #170 hits stores on December 28, 2006 and begins the countdown to the milestone issue #175. In a story titled “Comings & Goings,” Sonic, Tails and Knuckles must travel to the farthest reaches of the galaxy to save the life of the king. This issue is written by Mike Gallagher with art by Dave Manak and a jam cover by Ian Yardley and Jim Amah.
