Michael Jackson’s This Is It topped the October 30 – November 1, 2009 weekend U.S. domestic box office results with a take of $21.3 million, according to BoxOfficeMojo.com. That brings its U.S. total to $32,509,000. Internationally, where the accusations of the singer’s improper relations with children don’t seem to have had the same impact as in America, the movie totaled $68.5 since its Wednesday, October 28 release.
The indy hit Paranormal Activity racked up another $16,540,000 for second place, dropping less than 22% from last week’s showing. When you add in that it was produced for $15,000, it’s all that much more amazing.
Rounding our the top five were Law Abiding Citizen ($7,303,000), Couples Retreat ($6,097,000) and Saw VI ($5,560,000).
