Anthony Hopkins Cast as Odin in Thor

Variety’s Michael Fleming has reported that Sir Anthony Hopkins has been cast as Odin in Marvel Studios’ Thor. It had been previously rumored that actor Brian Blessed (Black Adder) had all but landed the role in the film, which will be directed by Kenneth Branagh.
Set for a May 21, 2011 release, the film will also star Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, and Tom Hiddleston as Loki.
