Heritage Signature Movie Poster Auction Features Johnny Ramone Collection

This half-sheet promoting the 1931 release of Frankenstein is among the most rare of posters associated with the film.

As Scoop is going to press, the bidding is getting ready to close on the Heritage Vintage Movie Poster Signature Sale. Featuring the Johnny Ramone Collection, this auction has attracted bidders from around the world.

The famed punk rocker Ramone had assembled one of the most impressive collections of horror and science fiction posters ever seen. Rob Zombie, writing a tribute to Ramone's collecting for Heritage's catalog of the event said “The truth is Johnny loved to collect, be it one-sheets, half-sheets, inserts, window cards or lobby cards. He loved them all like they were his children”. Zombie goes on to tell an amazing tale of how he watched Ramone wheeling and dealing for posters from his deathbed. Zombie's insights into Ramone and his love of collecting are touching. This is an amazing collection.

The auction results are beginning to come in. This week we are able to show readers some of the early highlights. Make sure that you check out next week's Scoop for the complete results. You can also visit www.heritagemovieposters.com for results as well as some fantastic images.
