Babe Ruth’s 1914 Rookie Card.

Specializing in baseball collectibles, but also offering a wide range of other areas of Americana, Robert Edwards has been growing every day of their past thirty years. Judging from the offerings in their Spring 2005 Auction, they may have come up with their best auction yet.

The most anticipated item listed has to be the 1914 “Baltimore News” Babe Ruth Rookie card. This card features Babe Ruth as an unknown minor league rookie straight out of St. Mary's Industrial School for Boys. One of approximately eight examples known to exist, this card is part of a 1914 set issued in Baltimore featuring stars of the city's two professional baseball teams, the Terapins of the Federal League and the Orioles of the International League.

Moving from baseball to other areas of collectibles, they are offering the original art from trading cards, paper advertising from the turn of the century, tin signs, and much more. The auction is large and there are close to 1,500 lots being offered.
