Ingersoll Mickey Mouse Watch Nets $6,160

The Winter Auction for Hake's Americana saw many strong sales. One of the stand-out areas was the character-related timepieces. All the watches, clocks, wristwatches were all among the highlights of the event.

"We were really proud to be able to offer the collector so many good looking time-pieces," said Alex Winter, the General Manager of Hake's Americana. "We had a good listing of items in superior condition. Our customers really responded well, especially to the character-related watches. Their continuing business and trust is why we are able to offer so many good-looking lots."

Winter is especially fond of a Mickey Mouse Watch Hake's listed. "Manufactured by Ingersoll, the watch is the first known Mickey Mouse Watch produced. The difference between this watch and the one eventually released in the fall of 1933 are minimal, but significant. The box also bears the foil stamp of the 1933 Chicago exposition."

Full details on this classic time-piece and other in the auction are available at www.hakes.com. All prices mentioned include a buyer's premium.
