1918 World Series Ball Up for Auction

Sportsworld Auctions will be auctioning off an official American League game-used ball from the final game of the 1918 World Series in their upcoming auction, taking place May 18 - 19, 2007. The signed ball has never before been in the marketplace and features autographs from the 1918 Red Sox world champion team, including Babe Ruth.

“We are honored to have acquired this item for auction, and pleased that Warren would select Sportsworld to find its next home,” said Phil Castinetti, president of Sportsworld Auction, in a recent press release.

Also included in this auction is an enormous, graded collection of hundreds of T-206 tobacco cards, including multiple copies of Ty Cobb, Walter Johnson and many other Hall of Famers; the 1967 American League Championship ring from beloved Bosox broadcaster Ken Coleman; a collection from Dave “Boo” Ferris (Red Sox star pitcher of the mid-'40s): and hockey collections from Wayne Cashman, Gary Doak, Wayne Carleton and Don Awrey, including all three of Awrey's Stanley Cup rings and Cashman's 1972 Summit Series jersey; and much more.

The 1100-lot auction goes live online on April 10, 2007 and can be viewed by visiting www.sportsworldauction.com.
