Peanuts Daily Brings $43,618 at R & R Auctions
Featuring lots from the Beatles, Robert E. Lee, Charles Schulz and others, the November Auction at R & R Enterprises closed just as Scoop was going to press. Thanks to the folks at R & R, we have an early look at some of the results. In the past few years, R & R has become a must-visit site for collectors of original art, especially the art of Charles Schulz. One Peanuts daily by Charles Schulz realized $43,618 in this auction. The cartoon, dated August 16, 1966, is from the very first year that Snoopy assumed his identity as the World War One Flying Ace. As things happen, an autographed picture of Snoopy's worn enemy, Baron Manfred von Richthofen was listed in the event. The lot sold for $12,500. Other strong sales came from names such as Voltaire, Paul McCartney, Robert E. Lee, and many others. This is just one example of the variety to be found in an R & R Auction. For more details on the results please visit R & R Auctions. Peanuts art is one of the hottest commodities in the market. Please take a second to read about another significant sale of Charles Schulz’ art this week in Scoop. |
