On the heels of Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, Batman has clearly retained his appeal as one of the world’s most popular characters. This weekend’s Sunday Internet Comic Auction, which closes at 10 PM CST on November 1, 2009, has 42 lots for Bat-fans, including the noteworthy first appearance of the Batmobile.
The rest of the slate is no less enticing, including 11 lots of Tales To Astonish (including #1 and the first appearance of Ant Man), eight Timely comics, and 754 other lots of equal stature and diversity.
They include Police Comics #1, Strange Worlds #5, Iron Man #1, and many others.
Also offered are X-Men #1 CGC 5.5, Iron Man #128 CGC 9.8, and such original comic book art as Dick Ayers and Frank Giacoia’s Two-Gun Kid #73 page 11, John Buscema’s The Savage Sword of Conan #61 page 19, Gene Colan and Tom Palmer’s Tomb of Dracula #32 page 15, Curt Swan and Dave Hunt’s Superman #380 page 22, and George Tuska and Sid Greene’s Marvel Super-Heroes #19 page 15.
