Ultimate Spider-Man Annual #1
Spider-Man, be he amazing, spectacular, sensational or ultimate, isn't the kind of character who has a ton of happy endings. It's the nature of what Stan Lee crafted when he wrote “With great power comes great responsibility” into the core of Peter Parker's character. Still, there have to be stories with hope in them or Spidey would be hopeless instead of what he truly is, which is steadfast and almost noble. This is one of those stories. It's also proof that writer Brian Michael Bendis, who might just be the reigning king of the multi-part epic, can tell a story in just one issue. It's a great read, too. |
