White Picket Fences #1 is simply, beautifully, staggeringly amazing. The honest-to-childhood characterizations of the kids, the wild situation, and the reverent send-up of the small town 1950s puts to shame the other supposedly more sophisticated (and almost inescapably negative) modern jaunts down this particular science fiction avenue. Lurking in these kids is a sense of wonderment, and lurking in these pages is an adventure waiting to happen. Micah Farritor wowed us with his breakthrough work on the graphic novels The Living and The Dead (with Robert Tinnell and Todd Livingston) and Night Trippers (with Mark Ricketts), and he's not letting up here. Congratulations to writers Matt Anderson and Eric Hutchins for their great story (thus far) and teaming up with this future superstar.
